Ray Pedersen designed the 7 ½ foot diameter orange Union Oil 76 ball and debuted it at the 1962 Seattle World's Fair. Not long thereafter, the large ball was miniaturized as a vindle and a whole new advertising medium was born. Yes, the Union 76 antenna ball has been around for over 45 years.
